Amylase: Amylase, found in saliva, breaks down
carbohydrates. In addition to the salivary glands, the pancreas
also excretes this enzyme. It is one of the two most effective
digestive enzymes that is secreted in high concentrations by the
body. Amylase is from the class of enzymes that hydrolyze
starch. Starch is found in foods such as pasta, potatoes and
rice. Amylase is commonly found in pineapples, bananas, raisins,
potatoes and squash.
Cellulase: Cellulase digests
fiber. It breaks down cellulose. Plants are a person’s only
source of cellulose as the human body cannot produce it. Chewing
liberates the cellulose out of the food, but when people eat raw
fruits and vegetables and don’t chew properly, the cellulose is
never released. Cellulase may also be lacking because of the way
the food was handled by suppliers. Some sources of cellulase are
oranges, celery, carrots, lettuce, cabbage and apples.
Protease: Protease is an extremely important digestive
enzyme. It is responsible for breaking down proteins which is
difficult to do. It is secreted in high concentrations by the
body. It is found in both the stomach and pancreatic juices.
Protease is a class of enzymes that hydrolyzes or breaks down
the peptide bonds that join amino acids together in a protein.
It is then that shorter chain proteins or free form amino acids
are made available. Some vegetarian sources of protein are pea
pods, lentils, alfalfa, and navy beans.
Lactase: Many people cannot digest more than a small
amount of milk or other dairy products due to a deficiency in
lactase. Lactase is an intestinal enzyme that breaks down
lactose, which is milk sugar, into its two constituent sugars to
render it absorbable. Humans produce peak amounts of lactase in
infancy when milk is necessary for survival. Supplies diminish
thereafter.
Lipase: This lipolytic or fat splitting enzyme is found
in the blood, pancreatic secretions and tissues. Lipase aids in
fat digestion, whereas pancreatic lipase digests fat in a highly
alkaline environment, lipases found in food fats work in a more
acidic environment. Vegetarian sources include avocados,
vegetable oil, rice, bran, wheat germ and olive oil.
Maltase: Maltase is a digestive enzyme which breaks down
malt sugars (maltose) which are an intermediate product in the
digestion of starch. It may help relieve environmental
sensitivities and allergies.
Bromelain: Bromelain is considered a proteolytic enzyme.
That means it is good at breaking down difficult proteins. The
bromelain enzyme is a strong anti-inflammatory because it can
digest proteins that are a byproduct of the inflammatory
process. It is used by athletes to prevent post-workout soreness
and is believed to facilitate the healing of sports injuries.
Bromelain is an enzyme that is found in pineapple. The only
other source of bromelain is pineapple juice.
Sucrase: Sucrase is beneficial in helping prevent
gastrointestinal problems and discomfort. It is an enzyme that
breaks down sugars (sucrose) found in some vegetables and many
fruits as well as sugar derived from sugar cane, sugar beets,
sorghum, molasses or maple sugar.
Homeostatic Soil Based Probiotics: This formula provides
a proprietary, synergistic blend of Homostatic Soil Based
Organisms containing 22 high-potency probiotic metabolites and
live cell probiotic strains. This form provides a superior blend
of beneficial probiotics in sufficient amounts for optimal
results. It supports intestinal and colon health, is
preservative free and non-pasteurized. It helpls maintain and
restore beneficial intestinal bacteria balance which is vital to
overall health. Included are lactobacillus acidophilus,
lactobacillus casei, bifidobacteria bifidum, lactobacillus
rhamnosus, lactobacillus sporogenes, lactobacillus cremoris,
lactobacillus delbrueckii, lactobacillus kefir, lactobacillus
lactis, lactobacillus caucasicus, lactobacillus planterum,
lactobacillus salivarius, lactobacillus bulgaricus,
lactobacillus helveticus, lactobacillus paracasei, leuconostoc
cremoris, lactobacillus brevis, lactobacillus, infantis,
lactobacillus lactis, bifidobacterium longum, bifidobacterium
breve, streptococcus thermophilus
Ionic Fulvic Minerals: Minerals and trace minerals are the
most basic of nutrients. Since they cannot be made in the body,
(hence they are called“essential nutrients”) they must be gotten
from our diet or supplementation. Ionic fulvic minerals are not
simply inorganic metallic minerals but are an association of a
wide variety of organic compounds as methyls, methylenes,
aromatic, protonates, heterocyclics, carbonyls, carboxyls,
quinines and ketone-ketene-like carbonyls; providing over 76
organically complexed trace minerals and elements in a
polyelectrolyte structure. Fulvic acid chelates, complexes and
makes minerals soluble for the highest degree of assimilation by
the body. Organically compounded minerals are the only way a
mineral can be introduced or accepted into the cell where it is
vitally needed to assist in metabolic activities as cofactors in
all enzymatic reactions. Enzymes all have a mineral component.
Inorganic mineral supplements are not fully chelated into
organic compounds and may run the risk of becoming toxic to the
body, getting stuck in extracellular tissue and in organs making
them impossible to be utilized and difficult to remove from the
system.
Other Ingredients:
Natural Flavors and Sweeteners
FruiterraTM
uses natural mixed berry flavor and stevia as a sweetener.
Stevia is a natural non-caloric, sweetener from plants. It is a
great replacement for sugar and artificial sweeteners. It
inhibits growth and reproduction of some bacteria and other
infectious organisms, including the bacteria that cause tooth
decay and gum disease.
Guar gum - Guar gum is a natural digestive fiber that helps
regulate the absorption of nutrients, including sugar, resulting
in a lower rise in blood sugar levels.
