 Cayenne :
Cayenne peppers are one of the absolute best things a person
can take for overall heart and circulatory health. Though
cayenne has vitamins C and A, B complex, calcium and potassium,
the star of the show is the resinous and pungent substance known
as Capsaicin. This powerhouse also known as Capsicum is the
greatest blood circulation stimulant known. It dramatically
increases blood flow and has been known to literally stop heart
attacks within minutes of ingesting. Capsaicin gives peppers
their heat and is therefore considered a stimulating herb. The
more capsaicin, the hotter the pepper will be. By increasing the
release of various pain associated neurotransmitters, cayenne
can temporarily reduce pain signals when the neurotransmitters
are depleted. Capsaicin reduces blood platelet aggregation
(stickiness) and can bust through areas where blood circulation
is clogged and desperately needed to repair nutrient depleted
areas and haul out waste materials. It is also a powerful
antioxidant. Cayenne may be beneficial for bursitis, diabetic
neuropathy, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and shingles.
It is traditionally used for various conditions within the
gastrointestinal tract including stomach aches, cramping and
gas. It stimulates the flow of stomach secretions and saliva,
but is most well known for its ability to support the
cardiovascular system. |
