 Apple (Malus
pumila): Cornell researchers reported in the journal
“Nature” in 2000 that one apple packs more cancer fighting
antioxidant capability than a 1,500mg dose of vitamin C. Apples
help lower cholesterol levels and remove metals and toxins from
the body. They improve bowel function and reduce the risk of
stroke, lung, colon and prostate cancer, type ll diabetes and
asthma. Apples are rich in vitamins B, C and folic acid, and
minerals calcium, magnesium, zinc and potassium. Plus they are
rich in fiber as well.
